In November, severe floods ravaged central Vietnam, leaving thousands of families without shelter and livelihood. Binance Charity, the humanitarian arm of Binance, contributed significantly to nationwide relief and reconstruction efforts with a donation of $200,000. The fund was formally handed over to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee during a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21st.
Hope and Solidarity for Vietnamese Communities
Vice President Nguyễn Hải Nam, speaking on behalf of the Central Committee, warmly welcomed the Binance delegation and expressed gratitude for their solidarity with families affected by the disaster. Nam highlighted that the aid serves as a substantial morale boost for the community, emphasizing Vietnam’s traditional culture of solidarity with the proverb, “Solid leaves protect torn leaves.” The donation is expected to help people in the disaster-stricken areas to quickly reorganize their lives.
Binance’s Asia-Pacific President, Seker SB, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to those impacted by the disaster. “Our hearts are with the communities affected by this devastating flood. We hope our assistance will provide relief to families in distress and empower the rebuilding process,” he stated. Seker SB also affirmed that Binance Charity will continue to contribute not only with immediate relief but also through long-term resilience projects across the region.
Ongoing Humanitarian Initiatives in Vietnam
Binance Charity’s involvement in Vietnam extends beyond this donation. The organization had previously conducted a BNB coin AirDrop valued at $1 million for users affected by the Typhoon Yagi disaster in 2024. Additionally, industrial RO water purification systems were installed in ten provinces of the Mekong Delta to provide access to drinking water amidst saline water intrusion. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Earthworm Foundation, 10,000 trees were planted in Binh Thuan Province to support ecosystem restoration and sustainable livelihoods.
Binance Charity continues to utilize Blockchain technology to ensure transparency and efficiency in humanitarian aid. Their approach ensures direct delivery of donations to those in need, verifiability at every stage of the process, and the creation of sustainable impacts. As demonstrated in Vietnam, the accountable management of relief funds through digital tracking is setting a global precedent.
