New Investment Products Offer Regulated Access to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana
Seven cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) denominated in Swedish krona became available on Wednesday on Nasdaq Stockholm through Bitwise. These new offerings provide regulated access to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana for both retail and professional investors, who can utilize their existing brokerage accounts for purchases.
The SEK-denominated products are eligible for Sweden's ISK tax-advantaged savings structure, subject to platform-dependent qualification. The listings include the Bitwise Core Bitcoin ETP, along with institutional custody-backed spot offerings for Bitcoin and Ethereum. Additionally, products linked to Ethereum and Solana staking have also been launched.
The MSCI Digital Assets Select 20 ETP, which tracks major cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, is among the new listings. A hybrid product offering combined exposure to Bitcoin and gold has also been introduced. To manage this Nordic expansion, Marco Poblete and Andre Havas have been appointed to key roles.
Bitwise Emphasizes Security and Transparency
Company officials stated that all Bitwise products are fully backed by the underlying crypto assets held in institutional cold storage. Independent audits are conducted weekly to verify these holdings. This Swedish launch marks a continuation of Bitwise's European expansion, which began with the acquisition of ETC Group in August 2024.
Recent Global Expansion and Future Outlook
Bitwise has been actively expanding its global footprint. In April 2025, four Bitcoin and Ethereum products were listed on the London Stock Exchange. September saw the addition of five crypto funds on the SIX Swiss Exchange. The company noted that improved regulatory clarity and reduced enforcement uncertainty in the U.S. supported its expansion efforts throughout 2025.
Further U.S. initiatives included September SEC filings proposing a Stablecoin & Tokenization ETF, which would track companies involved in stablecoin creation, tokenization systems, and payment processing. In October, the New York Stock Exchange launched the Solana Staking ETF (BSOL), providing U.S. investors with direct exposure to Solana staking reward yields.
December filings proposed a spot Sui ETF tracking $SUI token pricing, with Coinbase providing custody services. Decisions from the SEC are still pending for competing applications from Canary Capital and 21Shares for their respective Sui ETF proposals. Bitwise researcher Ryan Rasmussen has projected that over 100 crypto product launches are anticipated for 2026.
The adoption of generic listing standards by SEC regulators in September is expected to significantly accelerate approval processes for crypto ETPs. This regulatory evolution is enabling a faster introduction of new products within the crypto ETP sector. The recent Swedish listings are a key step in advancing Bitwise's international growth strategy across European markets.
