Trust Wallet, the self-custodial crypto wallet owned by Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, has introduced a new feature allowing users to engage with prediction markets directly within the wallet.
The new feature, named Predictions, enables eligible users to trade and earn on the outcomes of real-world events while maintaining full self-custody of their assets. This functionality is now accessible within the existing Trust Wallet interface.
Users can view various events, place positions on outcomes such as "yes" or "no," and monitor the development of each event over time. Trust Wallet's Predictions section will initially aggregate markets from multiple platforms, offering trading opportunities on a diverse range of topics including cryptocurrency, politics, sports, entertainment, and global events.
Integration with Major Prediction Market Platforms
Trust Wallet's expansion into prediction markets is starting with an integration of the Web3 prediction market protocol Myriad. The company has announced plans to expand its offerings to include major platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket in the near future.
Trust Wallet CEO Eowyn Chen confirmed that Predictions is live today, powered by Myriad. She also stated that integrations with Kalshi and Polymarket are anticipated within the coming weeks.
Myriad, launched in March, is a relatively new participant in the prediction market space. By late November, it had achieved $100 million in cumulative trading volume.
In comparison, data from Dune Analytics indicates that established prediction markets like Kalshi, Opinion, and Polymarket each process approximately $1 billion in daily trading volume.
Consolidating Trading Tools in a Single Interface
This move into prediction markets follows Trust Wallet's recent launch of tokenized stocks in collaboration with Ondo Finance in September. This development reflects a broader trend of consolidating various trading tools into a single, unified platform.
In October, the prominent crypto wallet MetaMask announced a partnership with Polymarket, which aims to allow users to trade predictions directly from within the MetaMask wallet.
Trust Wallet CEO Chen emphasized the company's vision to provide safe and simple access to emerging markets, stating that users should not need multiple applications to express their views on future events.
“People shouldn’t need five apps to express what they think will happen next,”
Chen added that wallets are evolving to become central hubs for all types of trading, extending beyond just tokens to include information, opinions, and expectations.
“Wallets are becoming the home for all kinds of trading — not just tokens, but also information, opinions, and expectations. Users shouldn’t need five apps to express a market opinion. It should happen in the same place they already hold and trade.”
The CEO also noted that trading restrictions, such as geofencing, are implemented and enforced strictly according to each prediction platform's policies.
