The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is co-hosting the inaugural App Town Hall in collaboration with decentralized application (dApp) teams and ecosystem partners. The Devconnect conference is hosting this event.
This marks the first time such a broad coalition of major app-layer projects has convened for an open-forum discussion on the future of the Ethereum application. The initiative aims for transparency and alignment across the dApp ecosystem.

Hosts and Participants at the App Town Hall
The App Town Hall is scheduled to take place on November 18 from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Amphitheater in La Rural, the central venue for Devconnect. Key co-hosts include the Ethereum Foundation, Nouns, Octant, Aave, ENS, and POAP. This event is designed as an open forum for the community, with the objective for leading application teams to reveal their development pipelines and plans for shaping their dApps in the immediate future and through 2026.
Principals from across the application landscape are expected to present, including representatives from Aave, ENS, Farcaster, Lido, Safe, and Uniswap, with CEO Hayden Adams attending. Jason Chaskin from the Ethereum Foundation will also be a speaker. Historically, public forums within the Ethereum ecosystem, such as Devcon and Devconnect, have primarily focused on core protocol development and research. However, there has been a growing recognition of the need for a more formal and unified venue to discuss the state of applications, given their integral role in the network's success.
The new App Town Hall initiative stems from this recognition, aiming to provide a dedicated space where teams building consumer-facing dApps can communicate directly with users, developers, and fellow builders. This format addresses a long-standing need for enhanced dialogue and collaboration within the application layer of the Ethereum ecosystem.
A Community-Centric Forum for dApp Development
The setting of Devconnect, known for its focused technical workshops and community-driven events, provides an ideal environment to bridge the gap between core protocol developers and the application teams that drive real-world utility. The event convenes diverse entities, ranging from the Ethereum Foundation, which focuses on research and ecosystem health, to DeFi players like Aave, Uniswap, and Lido. It also includes identity and infrastructure projects such as ENS and Safe, and DAOs like Nouns, all coming together to address common challenges and prevent fragmentation within the ecosystem.
Jason Chaskin, the App Relations & Research lead, aims to ensure that future application development aligns more closely with the fundamental principles and technical roadmaps of the Ethereum base layer. The event's open question-and-answer format is designed to foster direct feedback loops. Community input gathered during the town hall is intended to directly influence product roadmaps for participating organizations, thereby contributing to the development of more integrated and resilient applications on Ethereum.
The App Town Hall signifies a clear shift towards collaborative, user-focused development within the Ethereum community, as it seeks to realize the vision for dApps in the coming years.
