Some XRP proponents now point to early 2026 as a turning point for the asset. They believe major changes in regulation and settlement systems could shape the market. A recent video by Skipper (@skipper_xrpl), a crypto enthusiast on X, outlines this view.

New Attention on the 2026 Timeline

Skipper highlighted a $750 prediction by Jake Claver, stating that the prediction came too soon. He explained that he asked Elon Musk’s Grok AI model about the reverse carry trade and when it might unwind. The model projected “a disorderly unwind accelerating in quarter one of 2026 with the implosion… peaking around March of 2026.”

Skipper said this result aligns with his belief that the main move will occur next year rather than this year. He also stressed the importance of the Clarity Act. He stated that some people think XRP can reach adoption without new rules.

However, he disagreed with this view, saying, “Financial institutions are not going to adopt XRP without the full legal regulation and clarity.” He added that there is hope the act could be signed by November 22. He linked this date to the SWIFT and ISO 20022 adoption deadline and stated that both events could help institutions transition to XRP use.

Claims About Private Testing

Skipper also said he heard claims that institutions have tested XRP on private ledgers for months. He argued that banks and firms would want to test a system before using it. He said he heard that the test prices on these private systems sit far above the public market, but he also noted that none of this has been proven.

A second speaker claimed he saw private records and “concealed ledgers” with “absolutely staggering” figures. He stated that “side chains are displaying prices like 327,000 per XRP,” but stressed these were only test setups.

These trial systems help institutions run settlement models. He described the process as a way to show how large payment flows could work on the network. He said Ripple and its partners have tested these models to show how international use might scale.

Expectations for a Supply Shift

A supply shock could appear if private testing ends and settlement moves to the public ledger. Institutions could increase demand if legal clarity and system readiness line up.
