Fuel Network Foundation
The Fuel Network Foundation recently proposed an update to the FUEL V1 to V2 token migration and unlocking schedule. A large portion of Fuel V1 tokens remain unmigrated and hinder full network participation. The proposal seeks to incentivize the remaining V1 token holders to migrate to V2.
If you still hold FUEL V1 tokens, make sure to migrate them before the deadline here.
If you're holding FUEL on Fuel Ignition or on CEXs, you already have V2 tokens, no action is needed on your end.
Fuel Network - Protocol Upgrades
Staking
On September 1, 2025, staking on Fuel Ignition will transition to The Rig, Fuel’s native liquid staking protocol.
Already staking? You can manually migrate today to start earning auto-compounded rewards and unlock early access to:
- •stFUEL, a liquid staking token usable across DeFi
- •Mira LP and Swaylend (soon) yield opportunities
- •Over 6 weeks of auto-compounded yield before automatic migration kicks in
If you wait for the automatic migration, you’ll keep your rewards, but miss out on these early advantages. Liquid staking comes with the same security, but better functionality.
What's the difference between FUEL and stFUEL? FUEL = Native Asset, stFUEL = Your staked FUEL position from The Rig.
Your stFUEL balance stays the same, but its value grows over time as rewards auto-compound.

Transition to EigenDA
Fuel is Now Posting Blobs on EigenDA!
Fuel Mainnet has officially integrated with EigenDA for data availability:

In its current Devnet setup, Fuel Ignition is already hitting ~5,000 TPS - a major leap from the ~600 TPS possible with Ethereum DA.
Upcoming upgrades will push that to 20,000 TPS, with long-term targets of 150K TPS and beyond.

Sway
Sway is a Rust-inspired and purpose-built language crafted specifically to make smart contracts safe, simple, and performant from the ground up.
This month, we broke down the reasons for Sway and how much of an improvement it is over Solidity and other languages used for blockchain development.

As Ethereum celebrates its 10th anniversary this month, the Sway ecosystem continues to push forward with innovative tools and resources that empower developers to build more secure, efficient, and composable smart contracts on Fuel. July brought a wave of exciting announcements, particularly around package management, liquid staking, and transpilation upgrades.
This month came with key ecosystem developments, with special emphasis on forc.pub, The Rig, and Charcoal, alongside a slew of educational tutorials and documentation updates to help you level up your Sway skills.

They're also introducing a new Discord role ahead of something bigger, maybe a rebrand or a new product.
o2
Fuel is fundamentally redesigning blockchain execution to make on-chain order books finally viable.
The Fuel team is building in-house the fastest DEX ever created, o2, designed to showcase everything Fuel’s tech can do. Built entirely in Sway (Fuel’s Rust-inspired language), o2’s matching engine will require just ~200 lines of code versus the thousands typically needed elsewhere. Less code means fewer bugs, faster iteration, and lower costs. We’re already building a flagship order-book application.
o2 also integrates privacy pools to protect traders from sniping and front-running, making it impossible for market-makers to shadow your moves.
Initially, o2 is spot-focused, but perps, lending markets, and advanced derivatives are coming soon. Each will benefit from Fuel’s speed, efficiency, and security. We'll also release a forkable order-book kit, enabling anyone to build their own high-performance exchange primitives rapidly.
o2’s first release is scheduled for later this year, with intense ecosystem-building activity leading up to it.
