Metaplanet Becomes Fourth Biggest Bitcoin Holder, BTC Pumps
On October 1, Metaplanet announced that it had acquired a 5,268 BTC stake at an average price of $116,870, spending roughly $616 million. The latest Bitcoin purchase comes just two weeks after the Tokyo‑based company bought 5,419 BTC.
Due to its persistent Bitcoin acquisition strategy, Metaplanet has now become the fourth largest corporate Bitcoin holder, overtaking Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company. According to BitcoinTreasuries, the company now holds 30,823 BTC, valued at around $3.33 billion.
The recent purchase comes amidst a Bitcoin price rebound in the ‘Uptober’ trend. The Bitcoin price has increased by 7 % on the weekly timeframe and looks to break through the $120 K resistance for the first time in more than two weeks, per TradingView.
CryptoQuant has explained that with the price of Bitcoin reclaiming the Trader’s Realized Price ($116 K), it is now set up to rally higher. According to the on‑chain analytics firm, Bitcoin has reentered the bull phase, and the BTC price could rally to $160 K‑$200 K.
