Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, has refuted reports that the firm sold 47,000 Bitcoin as the cryptocurrency's price dipped below $96,000.
Bitcoin reached a 24-hour low of $94,000.73 before recovering some of its losses. As of 12:53 a.m. EST, it was trading down 1% at $95,994.91. Bitcoin has experienced a 6% decline over the past week.

"We Are Buying," Says Saylor
The price drop for Bitcoin occurred shortly after circulating reports suggested that Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin and a proponent of the digital asset treasury (DAT) strategy, had divested some of its holdings.
One such report, an X post from Walter Bloomberg, cited Arkham Intelligence data indicating that Strategy had reduced its Bitcoin holdings from 484,000 to approximately 437,000.
$MSTR – ARKHAM: SAYLOR’S STRATEGY CUTS BITCOIN HOLDINGS BY 47K
Arkham data shows Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) reduced its Bitcoin holdings from 484,000 to about 437,000, a drop of roughly 47,000 BTC. It’s unclear whether this came from transfers or sales. This is the first…

The X user noted, "It’s unclear whether this came from transfers or sales. This is the first reported decrease since July 2023, after months of steady accumulation."
Saylor promptly responded to the X post, stating, "There is no truth to this rumor."
These rumors began to circulate after Saylor's appearance on CNBC on Friday morning, during which he expressed optimistic views on Bitcoin.

He stated, "We are buying. We’re buying quite a lot, actually, and we’ll report our next buys on Monday morning. I think people will be pleasantly surprised."
Saylor also advised investors to anticipate volatility and emphasized the need for a four-year time horizon when considering Bitcoin.
Arkham Clarifies Strategy's Movements as Portfolio Reshuffle, Not a Sale
The concern that Strategy, a leader in Bitcoin treasury management, might be selling holdings was likely fueled by on-chain transactions executed by the company.
Arkham Intelligence confirmed that Strategy's wallets were involved in transfers but clarified that these movements were part of a broader portfolio reshuffling initiative.
In a statement on November 14, Arkham Intelligence explained, "Over the past two weeks, the Arkham platform has shown Strategy making a series of transfers from Coinbase Custody (their existing custodian) to a new custodian. It is likely that today’s transfers are a continuation of this rotation. On-chain movements do not mean that Strategy has sold their BTC, nor do transfers from Arkham’s Strategy entity automatically imply the sale of assets."
The firm further noted that large corporations like Strategy "regularly undergo wallet and custodian rotations for security, operational, or counterpart risk management reasons."
Arkham added, "The reaction to the movement of BTC by Strategy has been exacerbated by the general jitters in markets recently."
