Investment Fuels Next Phase of Expansion
Brussels, January 14, 2026 — The Belgian technology company NGRAVE, recognized for its EAL7-designed security in cold wallet solutions, has successfully concluded a strategic restructuring. A consortium of long-term investors, including the Lydian Group—founded by the architects of Mangrove Capital—has acquired the company’s core assets. This acquisition marks a significant step with the clear ambition to propel NGRAVE into a new era of substantial growth.
The Lydian Group stands as one of the industry's largest conglomerates, with extensive operations in media, infrastructure provision, and trading. Their robust market presence is evidenced by serving over 20 million customers monthly and facilitating annual transactions exceeding USD 50 billion.
Under the new ownership, the strategic plan involves building upon NGRAVE's established technological foundation, its existing product line, and its considerable international client base. The overarching objective is to significantly increase the assets secured by NGRAVE solutions, aiming to grow from the current approximately USD 1.5 billion to USD 10 billion within the 2026-2027 period.
Preserving Core Technology and Vision
The fundamental technology underpinning NGRAVE's offerings—comprising proprietary firmware, operating system, cryptographic stack, and the GRAPHENE backup solution—remains entirely intact. This technology has a proven track record, having maintained zero security incidents to date.
Quentin Grutman, Chairman of the Board, commented on the restructuring: "This new structure allows us to preserve years of technological innovation while operating on a basis that will enable exponential growth. Security, long-term value creation, and institutional credibility remain at the core of our strategy and engagement."
NGRAVE co-founder Ruben Merre, who was instrumental in the original vision, the development of all patented technologies, and the sale of wallets currently securing USD 1.5 billion in crypto assets, will resume his role as CEO. Merre stated: "This new chapter will allow us to double down on self-custody. Our goal is to make institutional-grade security accessible to every crypto holder."
The company will maintain its headquarters in Belgium and will continue to uphold its existing partnerships with industrial, technological, and institutional entities.
