The proposed entity is not designed to handle consumer deposits or issue loans. Rather, it would manage assets, oversee trust operations, and support the expansion of Ripple’s XRP-powered financial ecosystem, including its stablecoin RLUSD.
The charter application represents Ripple’s latest move to align its operations with evolving financial regulations in the U.S. By seeking direct oversight from the OCC, Ripple aims to position itself alongside other digital asset firms pursuing similar authorizations.
When Will Ripple’s Charter be Approved?
