The Shibarium network was exploited on September 12, 2025, when attackers drained an estimated $2.3 to $4.1 million by manipulating validators through a flash loan. The incident caused a decline in the value of ecosystem tokens, forced a halt in bridge operations, and redirected attention toward improving network protections.
In response, the development team is tightening validator control, implementing enhanced security measures, and conducting additional audits. Rather than being a permanent setback, Lucie framed these issues as opportunities for the network to reinforce its defenses and become more robust over time.
Strong Infrastructure and User Base
Another point Lucie underlined is the scale of Shibarium’s existing operations. The blockchain has already processed over one billion transactions and has seen hundreds of millions of wallets onboarded.
