Campaign Details and Rewards
Steak 'n Shake and Fold have launched a collaborative campaign across 400 U.S. locations, offering customers $5 in Bitcoin for every meal purchase. To participate, customers who buy a Bitcoin Meal or a Bitcoin Steakburger can earn $5 in BTC by uploading their receipts to bitcoinmealdeal.com and redeeming a code through the Fold app. This initiative is designed to integrate Bitcoin into everyday spending habits.

Fold's Role and Future Plans
Fold is a financial services company focused on Bitcoin. According to its CEO, Will Reeves, this campaign is the first of several planned collaborations with major consumer brands to demonstrate how Bitcoin can seamlessly fit into daily spending. Fold currently provides BTC rewards through its debit card and is preparing to launch a credit card that will offer the same rewards model for everyday purchases. The company is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol FLD, with its stock currently valued at $3.59.
Steak 'n Shake's Strategic Bitcoin Integration
Steak 'n Shake is supporting the campaign by establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. All Bitcoin payments received for the themed meals and milkshakes will be held in this reserve, effectively converting a portion of its transaction flow into a corporate digital asset. Additionally, the company will donate 210 sats (approximately $0.23) from every Bitcoin Meal sold to OpenSats, a non-profit organization that supports open-source Bitcoin projects.

The restaurant chain began accepting Bitcoin payments earlier this year and attributes some of its year-over-year sales growth to the interest generated within the crypto community. To commemorate five months of Bitcoin adoption, Steak 'n Shake introduced the BTC Steakburger, which features the Bitcoin logo imprinted on the bun. While Steak 'n Shake had considered accepting Ethereumpayments, this plan was ultimately abandoned due to customer feedback favoring a Bitcoin-only approach.
Steak 'n Shake has emerged as one of the pioneering fast-food brands to integrate Bitcoin into both its operational procedures and financial structure.
