Tether Q3 2025 Report Shows Record Profits, Growth

The report confirms the accuracy of Tether’s financial statements and provides a clear look at the assets backing USD₮, the most widely used stablecoin.

As of September 30, 2025, Tether’s net profit for the year passed $10 billion, cementing its position as one of the most profitable privately owned companies in the world. The company’s total reserves exceeded its liabilities by $6.8 billion, reflecting strong financial health and transparency.

A Quarter of Growth and Global Expansion

Q3 2025 was one of Tether’s strongest quarters yet. The company issued over $17 billion in new USD₮, bringing total circulation to more than $174 billion. This surge highlights the growing demand for stablecoins in global markets, especially in developing countries where access to traditional banking remains limited. Tether now serves over 500 million users, many of whom rely on its digital dollar for daily payments, savings, and business transactions.

A key part of Tether’s success lies in how it manages its reserves. The company’s exposure to U.S. Treasuries reached an all-time high of around $135 billion, making it the 17th largest holder of U.S. government debt—larger than countries like South Korea.

Alongside Treasuries, Tether holds $12.9 billion in gold and $9.9 billion in Bitcoin, creating a diversified reserve strategy that balances stability with long-term growth. This mix of assets helps Tether maintain liquidity while preparing for the future of digital finance.

Expanding Beyond Stablecoins

Tether is not stopping at financial services. The company is investing heavily in new sectors such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and peer-to-peer communication. These projects aim to strengthen communities by improving financial access and technology infrastructure.

Recently, Tether Holdings applied for an investment fund license in El Salvador under the country’s new Private Alternative Investment Fund law, further deepening its role in Latin America’s growing crypto economy.

The company also launched a share buyback program, signaling confidence in its long-term growth. Despite these major initiatives, Tether continues to maintain a multi-billion-dollar excess reserve buffer and group equity nearing $30 billion.
