MicroStrategy, a company that has been consistently acquiring Bitcoin (BTC) since 2020, has continued its regular purchases. Last week, the company acquired an additional 130 BTC.
The purchase of 130 BTC was made for approximately $11.7 million, with an average price of $89,960 per Bitcoin. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor announced this latest acquisition via a post on his X account.
“MicroStrategy purchased 130 BTC for approximately $11.7 million, approximately $89,960 per Bitcoin.
As of 11/30/2025, we hold 650,000 BTC purchased for approximately $48.38 billion at approximately $74,436 per Bitcoin.”
Dollar Reserve Announcement
In addition to its ongoing Bitcoin acquisitions, MicroStrategy (MSTR) also announced the establishment of a reserve fund intended for dividend payments. This move is separate from its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
The company revealed that it has created a US dollar reserve funded by the proceeds generated from the sale of its Class A common stock under its at-the-market offering program. This initiative aims to bolster its financial standing and operational flexibility.
According to the announcement, MicroStrategy has established cash reserves totaling $1.44 billion. This reserve is designed to ensure short-term financial stability and is intended to cover at least 12 months of dividend payments.
“We established a dollar (USD) reserve to steadily secure the ability to pay preferred stock dividends and debt interest.
We plan to maintain a reserve sufficient to cover at least 12 months of dividends going forward. This reserve was built through recent sales of common stock.”
Michael Saylor commented on the new reserve, describing it as a hedge against short-term market volatility. He stated, “This is a step towards creating a cash-based buffer separate from the Bitcoin reserve.”
This strategic move by MicroStrategy is being interpreted as a potential response to recent discussions and concerns regarding the company's financial structure and its perceived over-reliance on Bitcoin.
