According to CoinMarketCap data, the market capitalization of Yala fell to $39.6 million, with its trading volume dropping dramatically by 98.7%, reaching merely $11,600. Despite a brief recovery attempt, Yala lost its dollar peg early in the day and continued its downward trend to settle at $0.42. The YAM team had previously cautioned about potential liquidity pressures due to bridge vulnerabilities and unusual borrowing activities. Yala had been supported by leading funds such as Polychain, Amber, and Galaxy.

The loss of Yala’s dollar peg created a new shockwave within the decentralized finance space. The destabilization began notably between 04:15 and 05:00 in the morning, leading to panicked sell-offs and revealing a steep decline in investor confidence as the price slid back to $0.42 despite temporary recovery efforts.
