YZi Labs has announced a follow-on investment in Sign, a blockchain company pioneering token distribution and verifiable digital credentials. This investment follows YZi's initial funding of Sign in December 2024 and reinforces YZi's strategic commitment to supporting real-world utility and sovereign blockchain infrastructure.
Sign, established in 2021, has emerged as a leader in on-chain identity and token management. The company's products, including EthSign and TokenTable, have served over 50 million users and 200 projects, processing billions in token transactions. Sign's omni-chain attestation protocol is integral to national-scale blockchain applications, such as Sign Pass, which functions as an on-chain "Green Card" developed in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone.

With the new funding, Sign plans to broaden its focus towards developing national blockchain systems that facilitate sovereign digital assets and verifiable credentials. The company is actively collaborating with BNB Chain to create compliant infrastructure for national stablecoins, aiming to establish BNB Chain as a settlement layer for sovereign applications.
Sign's recently released whitepaper, "Sovereign Infrastructure for Global Nations (S.I.G.N.)," details its strategy to deploy blockchain-based public services to an estimated 40 million people within the next year. The company's global team, comprised of alumni from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Cornell, and UC Berkeley, will spearhead product innovation across the finance, regulation, and cryptography sectors.
Vision for Digital Sovereignty
Xin Yan, CEO of Sign, commented on the company's mission: "The crypto industry is rich in technology but poor in adoption. Our mission is to build digital infrastructure for sovereign nations, covering money systems, credentials, and governance."
Dana H., a partner at YZi Labs, highlighted the significance of Sign's work: "Sign's work on BNB Chain is redefining blockchain's role in society. From enterprises to entire nations, this evolution is what digital sovereignty truly means."
